Collagen induction therapy, also known as microneedling, dermarolling, or skin needling, is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles.
Microneedling, also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy, uses tiny needles to improve the appearance of wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, scars, and cellulite. After just one treatment, customers have noticed the effective results of microneedling.
After a numbing agent is applied to the area of interest, tiny needles are applied to the skin in order to lightly puncture the skin. This stimulates increased collagen production, which leads to firmer and younger looking skin. It also allows serums to better permeate the skin, leading to healthier skin growth and improved appearance. Microneedling can be done on different parts of the body, but is commonly done as a facial treatment for most patients.
The entire process takes about 40 to 50 minutes, and is painless due to the small needles and numbing treatment applied. While there may be some redness experienced immediately after the microneedling treatment is done, this lasts for a short amount of time and an improved appearance of the skin can show after only a few days.
While one microneedling treatment session can deliver improved results, it is important to repeat the procedure multiple times in order to achieve long lasting collagen.
